Close to the historic former provincial capital (now a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Camping Évora is well located for a short stay to explore the fascinating town and its castle.

There is space for around 238 touring units, most on level, sandy pitches separated by low hedges and with well-developed shade; larger units can pitch on undulating ground beneath tall trees. Electrical connections (6A) are available throughout, although long cables may be needed.

The surrounding area has a number of interesting megalithic monuments. Being close to the motorway from Spain to Lisbon, this could also be useful as an overnight stop.

Being on the outskirts of Évora, there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within easy reach, as well as supermarkets, banks and garages.

However, to shop, drink or eat in a more authentically Portuguese style, a visit to the walled town is recommended. To the south is an extensive lake created by the Alvito Dam. Well worth a day out, the walled town of Elvas is another World Heritage Site, renowned for its impressive fortifications, its amazing aqueduct and its range of architectural treasures, including the Church of the Dominican Nuns.

Directions to Orbitur Camping Évora

Évora is 130 km. east of Lisbon. From A2 motorway (Lisbon/Badajoz) leave at exit 5 and take N114 to Évora. Take southern bypass and at first roundabout turn southwest on N380 road to Alcáçovas. Site is immediately on right.
