Alan Rogers Review of Moor View Touring Park

Moor View is a very popular, adults only site with individual, level, terraced pitches, many with marvellous views across to the Dartmoor Tors. This is a park in a lovely corner of Devon, run personally by the enthusiastic managers. A member of the Countryside Discovery group, it provides 106 pitches with 68 touring pitches of varying sizes, all with 10A electricity. Sixty-six are on hardstandings with water and drainage also. Bushes and shrubs planted between the pitches are growing well, giving the park a very attractive appearance. A two-acre field provides space for tents, but there is no electricity.

The amenities have been designed in one block near the entrance, not too far from the furthest pitches. The block includes reception with a shop stocking fresh local produce and some camping accessories. Next door is a very attractive development of wooden lodges, landscaped into the woodland area now owned by the park. Six of these are available to rent and are sometimes used by families with children who have friends or relatives staying on the touring park, where no children are allowed. The owners tell us that this arrangement works well. Burgh Island and Bigbury Bay are nearby, Dartmoor is within striking distance.
