This site is located on the edge of Shanklin within walking distance of shops and services and only 1.5 miles from the beach. Lower Hyde is a large holiday park complex with over 200 caravan holiday homes to rent and about the same number privately owned. The separate touring area has 70 well spaced and numbered pitches, all with 16A electricity and 25 with full services (grasscrete, water, waste water drain, electricity and TV hook-up). The touring area is in an elevated position with good views over the surrounding countryside. The pitches are large and flat, easily accessed, with tarmac roads and low-level lighting. Landscaping is good, with much wildlife and planting throughout. There are now 6 safari tents available to rent.

There is a permanent warden for the touring pitches. This section has a modern toilet block but the rest of the facilities and entertainment are in the holiday home area, near reception, a few minutes walk away. This is a lively site with a large dedicated stage area for discos and spectacular cabaret shows. With all the activities, lots of young staff, security personnel and lifeguards, it is ideal for a family holiday.

Directions to Lower Hyde Holiday Park

From East Cowes ferry take A3021 for 2.5 miles to roundabout and turn right on A3054 to Newport. From Newport take A3020 towards Sandown and Shanklin. At Blackwater go straight on joining A3056 to Sandown. Immediately after Lidl supermarket on right, turn right into Whitecross Lane (signed Lower Hyde Camping). Continue, going past main reception and following signs to touring reception.
