A well established park with modern facilities, Kneps Farm is still operated by the family who opened it in 1967. Next to Wyre Country Park, it makes an excellent base from which to explore the area. A VNPR-operated barrier system flanks the reception building which also houses a well stocked shop. The 40 marked and numbered touring pitches are on hardstanding, all with 16A electricity and accessed from tarmac roads. They include eight pitches with full services. A separate area accommodates 50 caravan holiday homes (most privately owned) and six camping pods to rent. Recent additions to the park include a new playground for children and an outdoor fitness centre for adults.

A path leads through a gate at the back of the site into the country park. Just down the lane is a public slipway and the Wyreside Ecology Centre. A list and map are provided of local services and amenities, including pubs, restaurants, takeaway, etc. Other local attractions include Marsh Mill Village with a restored windmill, the Freeport Shopping and Leisure village at nearby Fleetwood (discount shopping), and several birdwatching sites around the estuary and country park.

The large, centrally heated sanitary building is warm and inviting with ten individual family bathrooms, each providing a WC, basin and bath/shower. Separate toilet facilities with electric hand wash units for men and women. Well equipped accessible bathroom. Combined baby care/first aid room. Laundry room. Small, well stocked shop. New playground. Outdoor fitness centre. Up to two dogs are accepted per unit. WiFi throughout (free).

Directions to Kneps Farm Holiday Park

From M55 exit 3, take A585 towards Fleetwood. Turn left at lights, then right at lights by Shell station (for Thornton-Cleveleys), straight across next lights, then right at the next roundabout by River Wyre Hotel. After one mile (past school) turn right at mini-roundabout into Stanah Road, continue across second mini-roundabout and eventually into River Road. Do not use sat nav.
