Alan Rogers Review of Highburn House Caravan Park
Highburn House Site is partly bordered by trees with panoramic views over the surrounding Northumbrian Countryside. The site is perfect for families with all the facilities necessary to make your stay a memorable one. The site is only a short walk (1/4 mile) from the main shopping area in the market town of Wooler which has everything from local foods to home-made pottery. You will also find many local pubs offering excellent local fayre. If you are looking for an activity holiday you will find everything within a short distance from the park including hill walking, fishing, canoeing, bird watching, sailing and much more. The site has 60 grass or hardstanding pitches most with electric hook-up. Mobile homes available to hire.
Northumberland, otherwise known as 'The Secret Kingdom', is probably one of the greatest undiscovered tourist attractions in Europe. From the low rolling Cheviot Hills in Northumberland’s National Park to its beautiful 'Heritage Coastline' there is something to suit everybody and it is all within easy travelling of the site. The area is dotted with historic castles such as the fortress at Bamburgh. From there you can view the Farne Islands and The Longstone Lighthouse. The islands are also home to magnificent bird and seal colonies which can be visited via a boat trip from Seahouses's Harbour. Lindisfarne or 'The Holy Island' can be reached via a causeway from the mainland. Just a few miles away you will find the ancient market town of Alnwick whose centrepiece is its magnificent castle, better known today as the 'Home of Harry Potter'.
