Hanstholm Camping is a naturally laid out, all year campsite in Denmark’s last wilderness area. It is close to the Thy National Park, Denmark’s first and largest park, where red deer roam. The site is built on a 40 m. sand dune and is only five minutes’ walk from the North Sea beach. It is well sheltered by pine, beech and oak trees. There are 50 pitches, including about 370 undelineated, slightly uneven places for touring units, all with 13A electricity, water and drain. There is a choice between quiet pitches overlooking the sea to enjoy the wonderful sunrises and sunsets, or close to all the campsite activities. A cycle path runs between the site and the beach.

The amenities include a heated pool complex with a slide, many other sporting facilities and a small zoo with goats, pigs, rabbits and some 20 ponies. There are good play areas for children and a separate play area for dogs. An excellent restaurant serving fresh fish, and a bar are close to the play area. There is a separate kitchen area where you can cook your own meals. Nearby, the fishing port of Hanstholm has a daily fish market, a lighthouse, a museum and important World War II military defences.

Two sanitary blocks with all necessary facilities, including accessible facilities. Restaurant, grill and takeaway (1/6-31/8). Small shop with bakery. Outdoor pool complex (1/4-1/10, heated from 1/5) with water park containing a large slide and a paddling pool and play area. Two playgrounds. Tennis. Boules. Minigolf. Multisports court. Bicycle hire. Riding. Fishing. Excellent weekly entertainment programme. Excursions. Internet café. WiFi over site (free).

Directions to Hanstholm Camping

From Skive take route 26 northeast for 44.5 km, across a bridge to Visun Vest. Turn north on 26 for 12 km. to just north of Thisted. Turn north on 26 for a further 6 km. to Raehr and follow signs to site.
