Donaupark Camping, owned and run by the Austrian Motor Club (OAMTC), is imaginatively laid out, village style, with unmarked grass pitches grouped around six circular gravel areas. Further pitches are to the side of the hard road which links the circles and these include some with grill facilities for tents; 100 of the 120 touring pitches have electricity (3/6A) and cable TV sockets. Tall trees surrounding the site offer shade in parts. Tucked neatly away at the back of the site are 120 long stay caravans. Activities are organised in high season with guided tours around Tulln on foot, by bike and on the river by canoe.

The ancient town of Tulln lies on the southern bank of the River Danube, about 20 miles northwest of Vienna. The city can be reached by train in about 30 minutes and one can sail on the river through the Wachau vineyards, orchards and charming villages.

Tulln (the City of Roses) was founded by the Romans and was the capital until replaced, first by Klosterneuburg and then Vienna. There are interesting old buildings in the town and music concerts are held on the river promenade. This is a quiet location some 100 m. from the Danube, excellent for families. The manager speaks good English and is pleased to advise on tourist matters.

Three identical, modern, octagonal sanitary blocks can be heated. One is at reception (next to the touring area), the other two are at the far end of the site. Accessible facilities. Directions to Donaupark Camping Tulln

From Vienna follow south bank of the Danube on B14; from the west, leave the A1 autobahn at either St Christophen or Altenbach exits and go north on B19 to Tulln. Site is on the east side of Tulln and well signed.
