Alan Rogers Review of DCU-Camping Aarhus
DCU-Camping Aarhus is an attractive terraced campsite that overlooks the Bay of Aarhus, set right on the beach in the Marselisborg forest that fringes the coastline.
The city centre is about 8 km away, with good transport links in the high season (the bus journey takes around 15 minutes and cycling is a good option). Here you can wander through the old town, the Latin Quarter, and visit the Moesgard museum and the ARoS art museum, one of Scandinavia's largest.
The campsite makes a convenient and pleasant base, a peaceful environment where everyone can relax. The kids make friends easily and enjoy swimming from the beach or the small jetty. Away from the site, enjoy the magnificent views from the summit of Himmelbjerget, visit the Randers Rainforestor take a boat trip out to Samsø.
The proximity of the bay means that midges can be a problem at some times of the year. The facilities are clean and serviceable but can be stretched in the peak season.

Pitches are grassy and mostly level with plenty of mature trees adding shade and character to the site. Some of the gravel tracks can be steep and some care must be taken whilst manoeuvring. A small shop at the reception offers sandwiches. Showers. Baby nursing room. Laundry. Play area. Bouncy castle. Climbing wall. Area for ball games. Shop nearby. Bike hire 1 km. Minigolf 1 km. Windsurfing, golf, indoor swimming pool 5 km. BBQ area. WiFi.
