Alan Rogers Review of Chainbridge Touring Caravan Site

Chainbridge Touring Caravan Site is a beautifully laid out L-shaped park is for adults only and quietly situated down a non-classified road that leads to a chain bridge over the River Tweed, linking Scotland and England. The owners are very welcoming and many visitors return time and time again.

The park offers 16 hardstanding touring pitches off a gravel driveway. All have electricity (16A) and freshwater. With very little noise from all but the birds, this is a very tranquil site. Berwick-upon-Tweed is on the doorstep, just four miles away, and just inland you’ll find Northumberland’s fine sandy beaches. The park is easily accessible from both north and south of the border.

Many walks and cycle rides are possible with the Sustrans cyle way close by. Fishing is also possible in the River Tweed, just across the road.

Places of interest are within around half an hour, Berwick upon Tweed, the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and its Castle, the Farne Islands, Alnwick Castle and famous gardens. The Scottish Border towns of Coldstream, Kelso and Melrose are a short journey away and the capital city of Edinburgh is 50 minutes away.
