Vliegenbos enjoys the best of both worlds with an appealing location in a large wood, ten minutes from the lively centre of Amsterdam and five minutes by bike from the countryside of the Waterland region, best known for its open expanses and picturesque towns such as Marken, Edam and Volendam. It extends over a 2.5 hectare site and has a good range of amenities including a restaurant, shop and recently renovated toilet blocks. Most of the 400 pitches are for tents, but there are 34 hardstandings (10A electricity) and a further 40 smaller hardstandings (no electricity).

Several hikers’ cabins can be reserved in advance. The site reception is open from 09.00 until 21.00 (check in at 23.00 available on request) throughout the season and is able to offer advice on sightseeing options, as well as the exploration of the Waterland by bicycle. There is a bus stop 200 m. from the campsite with a good service to the city centre. Alternatively, a ferry operates from Centraal Station to a terminal 15 minutes walk from the site.

Renovated toilet blocks include accessible facilities. Motorhome services. Communal kitchen with BBQ facilities. Bar/restaurant/takeaway. Shop (fresh bread daily). Free WiFi throughout. Cabins to rent. Reservations are not accepted for touring pitches. Dogs accepted on request.
