Alan Rogers Review of Camping Tranquilla
Tranquilla is a quiet family run site on the western slopes above Baveno, close to Lake Maggiore. The site is in two terraced sections, both with 6A electricity connections. The 55 touring pitches vary in size with trees offering plenty of shade. There is a very pleasant swimming pool with an attractive paddling pool. Reception is housed in a modern building together with a small bar and snack bar from where the Piralla family will welcome you. Some English is spoken. The site is an ideal base from which to explore this very attractive area.
Tourist information is available and reception will book any of the local activities and facilities including watersports. The lakeside town of Baveno is about 1.5 km. away, down a fairly steep hill. About half way down are bus stops and there is a weekly market on Mondays. Boat trips to three islands are available from the quay.
Facilities at Camping Tranquilla
The sanitary block offers the usual facilities including accessible facilities, All are kept very clean. British and squat style WCs. Laundry. Motorhome services. Pizza ordering service. Swimming pool (10/5-30/9). Play area. Free WiFi over site.
Directions to Camping Tranquilla
Baveno is 90 km. northwest of Milan on the western shore of Lake Maggiore, and is on the SS33 road between Arona and Verbania. Site is well signed from SS33 in the northern part of the town. Follow site signs. Do not use sat nav for final approach.
