Camping ’t Veerhuys is a quiet site extending along the Maas river, opposite the Maasduinen National Park (reached on foot and cycle ferry) in northern Limburg. The 80 touring pitches are grassy and equipped with 6/10A electricity and water. All have panoramic views over the Maas. The site features a cosy bar and a well known restaurant, Tanty Jet (discount for campers) with a terrace with views over the river, where you can enjoy a quiet drink and a meal. The MaasHopper, a boat that takes passengers and bicycles, calls in three times a week, stopping at several locations from where you can return on foot or by bike, if you wish. There are various watersports available including water-skiing (lessons available), banana rides, wake boarding, swimming and fishing. A recreational park and indoor pool are 500 m. This is a good base for cyclists and wanderers.

’t Veerhuys is an ideal site for relaxing and watching the water fowl, and the changing view as the barges pass slowly by. It is also a perfect location for cycling, either using the small ferry (cost € 1 for cycle and rider) or by bicycle directly from the site. From the Maasduinen National Park it is only 10 km. to the German town of Kevelar and the small Dutch town of Arcen (visited by the MaasHopper) is well worth a visit for its castle gardens and thermal baths. English, Dutch and German are spoken.

Facilities at Camping ’t Veerhuys

One basic, but clean and heated, sanitary block is located behind the restaurant. It has all necessary facilities including those for children and accessible facilities. Showers are on payment (SEP key) and washbasins are open style. Laundry with washing machine and dryer. Traditional bar and restaurant with terrace and snacks. Paddling pool. Play areas. Trampoline. Bicycle hire. WiFi over site (charged). No charcoal barbecues.

Directions to Camping ’t Veerhuys

Site is 18 km. northwest of Venlo. From A73 take exit 9 towards Wanssum. Turn right at the roundabout and then left in Wanssum. Follow signs to Blitterswijck. The site is signed from there.
