Camping Süd is a small, quiet site which, together with a family run restaurant, makes it a good choice for those who appreciate a few days spent in peaceful surroundings with lakeside views, and who enjoy regional specialities, freshwater fish and game freshly prepared by the restaurant’s owner. The homely restaurant has been in the family for almost 50 years and wood carvings by the present owner’s father are on display. Most of the site’s 105 fairly level, grassy pitches (especially those with lake views) are taken by permanent campers; all have 8A electricity. The practical sanitary facilities are well maintained.

The site is set well below road level and is peaceful, access being down a moderate slope. Fishing is an important and worthwhile pastime here, as photos in the restaurant will testify, and the site has a small jetty where boats can be hired. On the other side of the lake, only a few minutes drive away, there are many large hotels, bars, pizzerias etc. if you want a change in mood.

Facilities at Camping Süd

One well maintained sanitary block with free hot showers (in rather small cubicles) and the usual facilities. Small shop. Swimming in the lake. Breakfast can be served in the part of the restaurant overlooking the lake.

Directions to Camping Süd

Site is 8 km. SSE of Völkermarkt. From the 70 road follow signs for Klopeiner See. In St Kanzian fork right (opposite Penny supermarket) and after 500 m. straight ahead at roundabout. Site is 1 km. beside the lake on the left low down.
