The gently terraced 3.5ha Camping Prados Abiertos is set amongst trees on the southern edge of the Sierra de Gredos (regional park), nestling in the Tietar Valley two miles south of Mombeltran (castle)—a delightful scenic area of Spain. Established in 1983, the 146 pitch site remains under the same family, and today, a warm welcome is offered by Antonio, who speaks some English. A high percentage of pitches are permanently occupied. However, 21 are reserved for visiting tourists with caravans or motorhomes and 19 for tents. All have a 6-amp electric supply.

On-site, you will find various activities to keep the whole family occupied whilst holidaying here: football, basketball, paddle tennis, table tennis, badminton, boule and a large unheated swimming pool and a Play area for children—river swimming, bicycle hire, horse riding and walking all within 6km. Golf and fishing can be found 20km away.

Cuevas del Águila (Eagle Caves) is highly recommended, an underground karst landscape just 10km south of the site. (parking for motorhomes).

Facilities at Camping Prados Abiertos

The three sanitary blocks are ‘tired’ but totally functional providing hot showers, toilets and open handbasins. Accessible facilities, Sinks are available for dishwashing, laundry and a washing machine is available. Restaurant on site with take away food available, Football, basketball, paddle tennis, table tennis, badminton, boule and a large unheated swimming pool (open from 15 June - 10 September). Play area for children. Pets allowed. WIFI.
