The small village of Niedzica is south of the Pieniny mountain range in the Dunajec valley and about 40 km. northeast of Zakopane. This excellent little campsite is right alongside the Dunajec dam and the river, at the eastern end of the Czorsztynskie lake. With 35 level touring pitches, all with electricity, it is a good short or long stay site. Adjacent is the Dwor restaurant which is open from 10.00 to 22.00 all year. The raft ride on the river that flows through the limestone mountain gorges is one of the best known tourist attractions in Poland.

At first the rafts move with deceptive calm, but as they approach the gorge behind the cloister ruins the water becomes rougher as the river twists and winds. This lasts for about 8 km., after which the water once again flows more slowly. The exhilarating ride ends in Szczawnica, a well known health resort. The start of this ride is just 3 km. from the campsite and a bus will bring you back. In addition the Slovakian border is just 2 km. away.

The small sanitary block near reception has toilets and showers and two good sets of accessible facilities. Small campers’ kitchen with sinks and electric rings. Bar, restaurant and takeaway. Play area. Bicycle hire. Riverside beach.

Directions to Camping Polana Sosny Nr. 38

From Nowy Targ head east on the 969. In village of Debno turn right towards Niedzica (17 km). The Czorsztynskie lake is on the left and Czorsztyn Castle is ahead. After the castle continue through Niedzica-Zamek towards Niedzica. Just before the second Dunajec dam bridge turn right and site is immediately on the left.
