Alan Rogers Review of Camping la Quiete
La Quiete is a small site, attractively located on the shore of Lake Mergozzo, a small lake to the west of the much larger Lake Maggiore. There are 180 pitches here, mostly well shaded and with 6A electrical connections, many of which have fine views across the lake. A number of mobile homes are available to rent. On-site amenities include a shop and bar/restaurant, as well as a sports field and volleyball court. This is excellent mountain biking and walking country and the site owners will be pleased to recommend possible routes, although little English is spoken. The site does appear to be predominantly used by Italian families.
There is a lovely waterfront with a long beach and swimming area and superb views across the lake to the nearby town of Verbania. This is an elegant resort town on Lake Maggiore, created by the merging of the towns of Pallanza and Intra. Here, the magnificent Giardini Botanici and Villa Taranto are well worth a visit.
Facilities at Camping la Quiete
Three small, clean and modern sanitary facilities are well placed along the length of the site. Washing machines. Bar/restaurant. Shop. Sports field. Games room. Play area. Direct access to Lake Mergozzo. WiFi on part of site (charged).
Directions to Camping la Quiete
Leave the A26 motorway at the Casale exit and join the eastbound S34 as far as Fondotoce. Head north here on SP54 and the campsite is clearly signed.
