Enthusiastic Matteo Lampati and his wife, Ivona, run la Foce, an attractive, sprawling site in the Golfo del Asinara. A novel feature is the motorbarge to ferry campers to a secluded area of the sea coast on the other side of the river, which flows alongside the site. Here they can enjoy the golden sand dunes and have a refreshing swim away from other beach-goers. The 300 sandy pitches (with 4/6A electricity) vary in size and are informally arranged under tall shady eucalyptus trees stretching along the length of the site, some close to the river. There is a full entertainment programme in high season. We found this site to be of a much higher standard than most on this coastline.

There is a family atmosphere here, and there is something for everyone. We enjoyed the ambiance and friendly service of the restaurant, which offered delightful Italian food. There is a huge choice of activities for all ages, majoring on watersports, and there is a pleasant beach bar for campers. La Foce is a very peaceful site set in unspoiled natural surroundings.

Three sanitary blocks house good facilities with Accessible facilities. Hot water is available 24 hours. Washing machine. Motorhome services. Supermarket, bar, restaurant and snack bar (all season). Two pools and sun deck. Massage (charged). Play areas. Tennis. Bocce. Golf, Beach volleyball. Excursions. Beaches – ferry by free motor barge. Boat launching. Sailing and windsurfing. Canoeing. Sub-aqua diving and many other watersports. WiFi (part site, free).

Directions to Camping la Foce

From Sassari take coast road east to Castelsardo and Valledoria. As you arrive at the village watch for campsite signs towards beach and site.
