Camping Kockelscheuer is a municipal site owned by the city of Luxembourg and is 4 km. from its centre. It is managed by an enthusiastic couple and is quietly situated (although there can be some aircraft noise at times). On a slight slope, there are 161 individual pitches of good size, either on flat ground at the bottom of the site or on wide flat terraces with easy access, all with 16A electricity.

There is also a special area for tents, with picnic tables and, in the reception building, a tent campers’ lounge. For children, there is a large area with modern play equipment, table tennis and a multisport pitch and next door to the site is a sports centre with tennis courts. You will find various food and drink options here, with a restaurant with pizzeria, and camping shop. There is a friendly welcome, charges are reasonable and English is spoken.

Visit Luxembourg City by bus. Here, there are shops, museums and the Grand Duke’s Palace. Explore some of the 23 km. of defensive tunnels built in the Middle Ages under the city. The area south of the campsite has several old mining towns, many of which have excellent museums and walks to discover the old workings. Nearby there are two very large parks – the one at Bettembourg is a fairy tale park.

Two fully equipped, identical sanitary buildings, both very clean. Accessible facilities, Washing machines. Motorhome services. Shop (order bread the previous day). Snack bar. Children's playground, Table tennis table, Multi-sports field, Restaurant, sports centre also with tennis, squash, pitch and putt and golf driving range. Restroom. No entry for vehicles (reception closed) 12.00-14.00. Free WiFi throughout.

Directions to Camping Kockelscheuer

Site is SSW of Luxembourg City on the N31 to Bettembourg. From the south, exit A4 at junction signed Kockelscheuer onto N4. In 2 km. turn right (Kockelscheuer and campsite) and continue to follow the signs.
