Camping Im Thermenland is tucked quietly away in the hills of eastern Steiermark, 45 km. southeast of Graz and close to the borders of Slovenia and Hungary. It is a modern, well-maintained site with 70 level touring pitches, with some hedge separation, all with 16A electricity, water and drainage. As the name suggests, the site is situated close to numerous spas and thermal baths including Bad Gleichenberg, which dates back to Roman times. Nearby Bairisch Kölldorf is a town of only 1,000 inhabitants; it does however boast a fire station that takes the form of the world’s largest fire engine!

Steeped in history, this part of Europe is known to few tourists, but it has much to offer, both from the past, with some superb castles perched atop rocks with steep, well-fortified approach roads, and from the present with attractions such as Styrassic Park – a must for youngsters. A regional bus stops outside the site, making sightseeing easy for those who like to take a break from driving.

Excellent toilet facilities are clean, well maintained and include free showers. Accessible facilities. Dog shower. Washing machine and dryer. Restaurant with terrace adjoining small play area. Unheated outdoor swimming pool with cover (May-Sept).

Directions to Camping Im Thermenland

Southeast of Graz, Bairisch Kölldorf is unlikely to appear on any map. Leave A2 at exit 157 and head towards Feldbach on 68. Continue on 66 to Bad Gleichenberg, go straight over first roundabout and turn left at second (supermarket). After 2.8 km. (past fire station) turn left by a chapel and immediately right to site in 600 m.
