Set on a beautiful stretch of the Adriatic Coast, Camping Village Grotta del Saraceno is on a promontory overlooking an attractive bay with stunning views. The soft sand beach is down 100 steps; halfway down, there is a charming ‘ristopub’ which sits alongside the famous grotto. If you are at all unsteady on your feet, this location is probably not for you.

The site has rows of pitches with 6A electricity, most with artificial shade, others with shade provided by trees. Unfortunately, the few pitches with sea views are occupied by permanent units. This is a family-friendly campsite with plenty of organised activities, especially for children. The trio of pools, including fountains, is very pleasant and is floodlit at night, and there is a choice of restaurants and a pizzeria.

Like many Adriatic sites, there is some train noise at times. When we visited in July the site was very busy with Italian campers. Accommodation is also available in mobile homes, bungalows, Tukul tents and apartments.

Directions to Camping Grotta del Saraceno

Vasto is 62 km. southeast of Pescara via the A14/E55 motorway. Site is north of the town. From north leave at exit for Vasto Nord, to join SS16 signed Foggia. In 7 km. turn left to site. From south leave at exit for Vasto Sud, join the SS16 north towards Pescara. In 12 km. turn right to site.
