This is a small site located in the heart of the Alps with one main function other than skiing. That is to position you for a visit to the world famous, pyramid peaked Matterhorn which towers above as you ascend the winding road towards the site. The pitches are informal, and generally you park around open paddocks. Only 2A electricity power is provided and all other facilities are on a basic level. There is no supporting infrastructure here, but the town is a short walk away and there is a sports bar/café just outside the gate. The views are stunning and there is a pretty little lake to explore just a few metres from the site.

If you are brave enough it is possible to swim there, and the walks are superb. This is a top class winter ski area. The site is a maze of different types of accommodation but the touring pitches are at road level and easy to access. If you decide to visit the Matterhorn, drive 10 km. further uphill to the end of the road at Breuil-Cervinia, ignore all other signs concerning parking or no parking and go to the cable car for Monte Rossa where you can park free, motorhomes included!

Facilities at Camping Glair

The main toilet block is central and modern but the WCs are almost all squat style with one British style for each gender. Showers are modern, but by tokens. Accessible facilities, Washing machines. The chemical disposal point is a sharp climb from the motorhome parking area. Torches absolutely essential as site is extremely dark at night and there are many steps.

Directions to Camping Glair

Site is south of Breuil-Cervinia and the Matterhorn. From the A5/E25 St Vincent exit, take road north towards Breuil-Cervinia and, 2 km. south of the village of Valtournenche, turn right where site is signed.
