Toledo was the home of the Grecian painter, El Greco, and the site that bears his name boasts a beautiful view of the ancient city from the restaurant, bar and attractive pool and terrace area. The friendly, family owners make you welcome and are proud of their site, which is the only one in Toledo (it can get crowded). The 150 pitches are of 80 sq.m. with 10A electricity connections and shade from strategically planted trees. Most have separating hedges that give privacy, with others in herringbone layouts (long leads required in this area). The River Tajo stretches alongside the site, which has an attractive, tree-lined approach.

The site has a classical feel to it with some elegant buildings. Ivy-clad pergolas run down each side of the swimming pool (fenced for safety) and a large shaded terrace offers shelter from the sun, which can be very hot here. Attractive hedges, borders and planting are well irrigated, However, all the pitches are on hard surfaces. This site makes a relaxing base to return to after a hard day visiting the amazing sights of the old city of Toledo. A regular, air-conditioned bus will take you from the site gates and on your return, you can eat at the site restaurant which is open all year.

Facilities at Camping El Greco

Two sanitary blocks, both modernised, one with accessible facilities. Laundry. Motorhome services. Swimming pool (15/6-15/9, charged). Small, well stocked shop in reception (all year). Restaurant/bar (1/4-30/9) with good menu and fair prices. Playgrounds. Ice machine. Communal barbecues. WiFi in bar/restaurant areas (free).

Directions to Camping El Greco

Site is on C4000 road on the edge of Toledo going west. Site signs also in city centre. From Madrid on N401, turn towards city centre then right at the roundabout at the old city gates. Site is signed.
