This uncomplicated coastal site has a marked Spanish flavour and is just 1.5 km. from the pleasant town of Colunga. Although little English is spoken, the cheerful owner and his helpful staff will make sure you get a warm welcome. The great advantage for many is that 200 m. from the gate, is a spacious beach by a low tide lagoon with a recently constructed marine parade, ideal for younger children. Some of the 210 pitches are occupied on a seasonal basis, but there are 140 for touring units. These are flat but with little shade; electricity (5/10A) is available (long leads needed in places). The site gets very busy in high season.

A new sports and play area, with a dedicated barbecue and a picnic area is at the end of the site across a bridge. Whilst the river is mainly fenced off, children could possibly find their way through to the river and thus should be supervised. Just 1 km. from the site is the Jurassic Park of Asturia with fossilised footprints of dinosaurs along with some dinosaur fossil remains. Ask at reception for details and guides.

Facilities at Camping Costa Verde

The single toilet block is of a high standard with a mixture of British and squat style toilets (all British for ladies), large showers and free hot water throughout. Laundry. Well stocked shop. Bar/restaurant is traditional and friendly. Play area. Torches needed. No electric barbecues. Free WiFi on part of site.

Directions to Camping Costa Verde

Colunga is 45 km. east of Gijón. Leave the A8 Santander-Oviedo motorway at km. 337 exit and take N632 towards Colunga. In village, turn right on AS257 towards Lastres; site is on right after 1 km. marker.
