Camping Alkmaar is a friendly, family run campsite on the outskirts of the charming town of Alkmaar and near the artisan village of Bergen. A short cycle ride will take you to the peaceful countryside of Noord-Holland with its dunes, wide sandy beaches, woods and unique polder landscape.

Alternatively, a stroll along the canals in the picturesque heart of Alkmaar with its architecture, culture and cheese market may appeal. This is a tranquil site - there is no bar or restaurant and radios are not permitted. All 120 touring pitches have 6/10A electricity; 46 have hardstanding, and 21 are comfort pitches with water and drainage. A regular bus service runs to the town centre and the train station for connections to Amsterdam.

A boat tour around the canals is also recommended. For golfers, there is a good 18-hole golf course, 2 km. from the site. For children, the Batavier fun park is just 200 m. away and always proves popular.

Modern sanitary block in the touring area is clean and well maintained and has coin-operated showers and open style washbasins. Accessible Facilities. Washing machine and dryer. Two motorhome service points. Play area. Fishing. Bicycle hire. WiFi over part of site (charged).

From the western ring road of Alkmaar (N9), turn left towards Bergen (N510). After 300 m. turn left to the site.
