Although the Górnóslaski industrial district, of which Katowice is the capital, is not a tourist centre, Camping 215, being near a lake and 5 km. from the town centre in a leafy suburb, makes a good one night stop when travelling from the west to Krakow or for a few days if visiting Auschwitz or Katowice. The site has five rectangular grass lawns, separated by hard access roads. There are just 40 unmarked, slightly sloping pitches for touring, some being under trees and some in the open, but all having 6A electricity. The disadvantage of this site is that it is next to the main motorway and is therefore noisy.

Katowice is an industrial city but has several museums and architectural monuments. Also worth visiting are the market, with the Saint Wyspianskiego Theatre, and the south part of town where the Kosciólek Park with its 16th century wooden church is situated.

One good, fully equipped toilet block on one side of the site with preset showers and open style washbasins. Laundry facilities. Campers’ kitchen with picnic tables, sinks and covered barbecue. Bar with terrace and takeaway. Basic food provisions from the bar. Swimming pool. Sauna (PLN 15). Tennis. Fishing. Watersports. Games room with TV, darts and billiards. Bicycle hire. Internet access.

Site is 5 km. south of Katowice centre, on the west side of Highway 86 (Katowice to Bielsko-Biala) and 0.5 km. north of motorway A4 (Katowice to Krakow). Site is signed from Highway 86.
