Alan Rogers Review of Alders Caravan Park

The Alders is located in the village of Alne, nine miles from the centre of York, and has been carefully developed and managed on a working farm in historic parkland. The drive from reception around the village cricket ground to the pitches gives a real feeling of space.

The extra-large pitches are arranged in small bays designed to give privacy and separate the 28 touring pitches (16 with 6/10A Europlug) from the seasonal units, storage and camping pods. Service tracks throughout allow site maintenance without compromising privacy. Woodland walks and a water meadow with wildflowers enhance the wonderful peace and tranquillity. Occasional light aircraft noise.

Two camping pods were added in 2014. There is a restaurant in the village, and you can drink in the cricket club bar on Friday and Saturday nights and during and after home cricket matches. This park would especially suit couples or young families (no play area). The village centre is only a short stroll away. Alders is also well placed for visiting the many attractions of the area, for example York, Harrogate, Castle Howard and the North York Moors.
