Alan Rogers Review

Canterbury Fields has beeen acquired by the Darwin Leisure group. This a small, quiet site located in the heart of the Kent countryside overlooking the Chartham Downs. Just five miles south of Canterbury and eight miles north of the M20, it is ideally placed either to explore the delights of the ancient city or the many attractions of eastern and coastal Kent. With some caravan holiday homes, the site also has 45 pitches for touring units and tents. The 27 pitches with 10A electricity are marked on mainly level grass either side of the entrance road, the remainder unmarked on a rather attractive, sloping area, left natural with trees and bushes creating cosy little recesses in which to pitch.

This neat, tidy park makes an excellent base away from the hurly-burly of life where you can enjoy the rural scenery and also have the opportunity for walking, riding, visiting local places of interest or for Cross-Channel excursions. Its proximity to the Channel ports also makes it useful for a night stop on the way to, or from, the Continent.

Two brick-built sanitary blocks (one for each sex) can be heated. Washbasins (H&C) and four showers (on payment). Extra toilets on the edge of the camping area. Toilet/shower room for families and disabled visitors. Washing machine, dryer and iron. Gas supplies. Play area. Torches may be useful. Dogs are not accepted. WiFi (free).
