Alan Rogers Review

L’Escapade is a member of the Yelloh! Village group. This is a chalet village currently with 44 attractive, solid mountain chalets to rent. Please note that there are no touring pitches here. The site is located high in the Regional Park of the Catalan Pyrenees, with easy access to Andorra and the Spanish enclave of Llivia. This is an all year site, and is a good base for a winter sports holiday thanks to its altitude of 1,200 m. Major expansion of the accommodation and entertainment should now have been completed. For anglers, a mountain river runs alongside the site.

This is a good base for an active holiday. Archery, riding, hot-air ballooning, rafting and mountain biking are all available, and in winter, skiing, snow-shoeing and dog sledding. Puigcerda is the capital of the Cerdagne region and sits on the border between France and Spain. It has a wonderful Sunday market with a distinctly Spanish flavour. The Gothic church of Saint Domenec is also well worth a visit. One of the best ways of visiting the region is on the ‘little yellow train’, which winds through some wonderful mountain scenery from the plains below.
