Alan Rogers Review

Les Vikings is located close to the attractive resort of Barneville-Carteret on the western side of the Cherbourg Peninsula. The site is just 400 m. from a sandy beach. There are 250 pitches of which around 70 are reserved for touring, the rest being occupied by mobile homes and chalets, some of which are to rent. Pitches are grassy and of a reasonable size, with 6A electricity, but long leads may be required. Most of the site’s amenities are grouped around the entrance and these include a swimming pool (covered and heated), a restaurant/pizzeria and bar as well as a grocery shop. During the whole season, various activities are organised including discos and karaoke evenings.

The Channel Islands are a popular excursion from here and a regular ferry service runs from Barneville-Carteret. The D-day beaches are also within easy reach. Barneville-Carteret itself is a colourful resort with plenty going on for all the family.

The main toilet block is outstanding, the second block is due for refurbishment. Well stocked shop. Bar. Restaurant, snack bar and takeaway. Swimming pool complex with flume. Games room. Play area. Small farm with chickens, goats, a pony and a llama. Activity and entertainment programme (high season). Mobile homes to rent.
