Alan Rogers Review
This is a popular, high quality site, situated in a quiet and rural location, close to the Cotswold attractions. Some pitches surround a small coarse fishing lake, with others in a recently developed area of maturing bushes and shrubs with open views over the surrounding countryside. In total there are 80 touring pitches, 60 with 16A electricity hook-ups and 52 with gravel hardstanding. Two camping areas have also been provided and there are four lodges for hire. The reception building flanks a small gravel car park approached from a tarmac drive.
Places to visit include Gloucester Docks and the National Waterways Museum, whilst south of Gloucester are Owlpen Manor near Uley, and the Painswick Rococo Garden. The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge, first opened in 1946 by Sir Peter Scott, is also well worth a visit. Much closer to the site is the GWR (Gloucester Warwickshire Railway) at Toddington or Winchcombe.
The main heated sanitary unit is kept very clean and tidy to an extremely high standard. Room with disabled access. Separate parent and child room. Laundry facilities. Gas supplies. Recreation room. Small outdoor play area. WiFi throughout (charged). Fishing (on payment, licence required). Lodges to rent.
