Alan Rogers Review
The Scheibner family first thought of opening a campsite when touring Canada in 1998, so it is not surprising to find reminders of their trip appearing in the site’s buildings with pictures and Canadian names. They found their spot on land once belonging to the Stasi, the East German secret police, and turned it into a well kept and welcoming campsite. It has 99 touring pitches, some under mature pine trees in the woods, but most on open ground, partly separated by low bushes and shrubs. Around a quarter have 16A electricity, while the remainder are fully serviced.
On grass and gravel, most are arranged in two lanes running in front of reception or on a few areas running alongside reception in the woods. Sanitary facilities on this site are excellent, with a fully equipped kitchen, cosy lounge and covered terrace. The hot water supply is via an ingenious environmentally friendly system. This area has much to offer for sightseeing, walking and cycling.
Excellent sanitary facilities with British style toilets, free controllable hot showers and washbasins (1 cabin each for men and women). Washbasin and toilet for children. Baby room. Bathroom to rent. Washing machines, dryers, iron and board. Fully equipped kitchen, including fridge and dishwasher. Small shop in reception (bread to order). Beer garden. Takeaway. Lounge with dining table, TV and library. Playground. Bicycle hire.
