Alan Rogers Review

There has been a small campsite here for many years, but the new owner has transformed the appearance of the original camping area alongside an attractive little fishing lake and has created a new, larger lake with additional pitches and facilities. There are now 76 touring pitches, all with electricity (16A), on gravel hardstanding and separated by grass borders, raised flower beds or timber beams. Tents are not accepted. A pleasant walkway runs along the embankment bordering the (unfenced) main lake.

This attractive park will appeal to fishing enthusiasts and to nature lovers who prefer a simple, unsophisticated site in a peaceful rural setting. The lakes are stocked with a variety of fish and anglers also have access to two of the three fishing lakes in the adjacent Wagtail Fisheries. Walkers are well catered for, with three circular walks on bridleways starting from the nearby village. Belton House (NT) and Belvoir Castle are both only a short drive away and the historic market towns of Grantham and Newark provide a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Facilities

Two small heated buildings near the original pitches each provide an en-suite controllable shower, washbasin and WC. A new heated and well equipped toilet block includes a toilet for disabled visitors and laundry facilities. Motorcaravan service point. Security barriers. Gas supplies. Secure caravan storage. Fishing (£5 per person). WiFi over site (charged).
