Alan Rogers Review

Situated between Montpellier and Sète and surrounded by vineyards which produce Muscat wine, l’Europe could make an interesting holiday venue. There are 293 pitches, some for privately owned mobile homes, but the majority featuring a range of chalets and mobile homes to rent. All the pitches are level and of reasonable size with good shade from flowering hedges. The focus is very much on families and the site boasts an excellent play area and a rather special pool for children. There could be some noise from the nearby railway.

The site has a wide range of facilities around the central area and provides entertainment and activities for children from June onwards. The Montagne de la Gardiole is behind the site and the Mediterranean is nearby. Vic la Gardiole is a traditional fishing village and only 700 m. from the site. The unspoilt Aresquiers beach is a further 3.5 km. along the road running beside the ‘etangs’ (sea water lakes) for which this coast is well known. The Canal du Rhône at Sète is a navigable channel running between them amongst the oyster beds. Sète is a must, a miniature Venice and well known for its water jousting games.
