Alan Rogers Review
La Roseraie is a mature, well-run site, popular with both the Dutch and English. Its situation beside the N114 means that some road noise is inevitable. The leisure area beside the entrance screens it with pools, shops, bar and restaurant and is also very attractive looking towards the mountains. Various trees and shrubs give a park-like feel and colourful wooden chalets blend in along with mobile homes, many privately owned and very pretty. There are 375 pitches in total with 221 for touring units on level grass and with good shade and 6A electricity. Visitors seem to return year after year – perhaps it is the calm, rural feel and good management.
The beaches are 4 km. and the village 2 km. and in July and August you can use the ‘Petit Train’. Also at this time of year, the site organises a range of activities and entertainment. Earlier in the season such activities as speleology trips are arranged. This is a good value site worth considering.
Four toilet blocks are opened according to demand and cleaned three times a day in high season. Two are modern and larger, two smaller, traditional ones are being updated. Baby bath. Laundry. Shop. Bar. Restaurant and takeaway. Heated swimming pool. Play areas. Minigolf. Children’s club (high season). Bicycle hire. Free shuttle to beach and town (July/Aug).
