Alan Rogers Review

Treveague Farm is a friendly, family run site situated on the cliffs 300 metres above sea level. Three beaches are reachable within 25 minutes walking time. This four-acre grassed site is on slightly sloping ground and has 46 marked pitches, all with 10A electricity, 30 with their own water supply. Tents are pitched in a separate area. The site is divided is into paddocks by hedges and openwork wooden fences, and being fairly open allows views of the surrounding countryside. The reception area has a small shop and adjoining colourful restaurant with separate indoor and outdoor eating areas. This is a site for those who prefer a more relaxed form of camping with open spaces, beaches and walking all at hand.

Off the main roads, there is a vast network of country lanes so over-reliance on sat navs can cause problems. A good large scale map and some prior planning is recommended for those who wish to go off the beaten track. For FKK enthusiasts, a section of Vault beach (25 minutes away) is reserved for naturists. It is worth noting that weaver fish are common along this coastline, so it is advisable to wear sandals on the beach. Should you happen to tread on one, suitable treatment measures are noted in the campsite’s information brochure.

Directions

Site is 8 miles southeast of St Austell. From St Austell follow B3273 towards Mevagissey. After 4 miles turn right at top of hill towards The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Continue on this road, past Lost Gardens on left, towards Gorran for 4.5 miles heading south. After Gorran High Lanes take fork to left and continue straight ahead for 0.75 miles to site. Narrow lanes are unsuitable for large outfits. Follow signs rather than sat nav.
