Alan Rogers Review

Trethiggey is a garden-like park with an enjoyable, informal style and a ten month season, set some three miles back from the busy Newquay beaches and nightlife. With natural areas including a small wildlife pond and fishing lakes to enjoy, conservation is high on the agenda. There are 157 pitches, 110 with 16A electricity, 25 on hardstandings and six are fully serviced. Some level pitches are formally arranged, whilst others are on gently sloping grass amidst 12 caravan holiday homes. A more open field provides extra pitches and room for tents.

Facilities maintain the informal touch with a new reception, a new shop which stocks basic supplies, an off-licence and a small library. The Mediterranean style bistro and café/bar is a real attraction, with a good menu, including breakfast, in the main season. A barbecue bar is a nice touch in high season. The relaxed atmosphere created by the two families who run the site makes this a different, yet popular, choice.

Two fully equipped, heated shower blocks, one in traditional style. En-suite facilities for families and disabled visitors. Motorcaravan services. Laundry facilities and wetsuit wash. Games room with TV and amusement machines. Shop (all season). Café, bar and takeaway (June-Sept). Adventure play area and recreation field. Coarse fishing. WiFi (charged).
