Alan Rogers Review

The three generations of the Akeroyd family are proud of their superb park and they work hard to keep it really well maintained. They have been recognised for their commitment to high standards by many gold awards. They aim to attract couples and families who seek peace and tranquillity, and who enjoy making their own entertainment. Trethem is strictly a touring park with all 84 pitches having 16A electricity, 66 with hardstanding and TV connections and 21 with water and waste water. All are large, most on slightly sloping lawns, with the lower area more level and sheltered. All are individual or in bays, divided by neat hedging, giving everyone some privacy.

There is a comfortable and spacious feel as the park covers 11.5 acres, about half of which comprises a dog and nature walk and recreation area. The area around reception is beautifully landscaped and features a small watermill built amongst the flowers. The Roseland peninsula, which is itself an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is well worth exploring. At Trethem Mill you can be sure of a warm welcome and it is ideally placed for sailing, walking the coastal path around the peninsula, visiting the gardens of Trelissick and Heligan, or simply lazing on the nearby beaches. A member of the Best of British group.

The excellent central toilet block is kept spotlessly clean and is heated in cooler weather. There are three unisex shower suites which are perfect for families, one of which is also more suitable for those less able. Baby room (under 4s), launderette, motorhome services and small, well stocked licensed shop with camping and gaz sales. Freezer for ice packs (free), picnic table provided on every pitch, pick-your-own herb garden and book exchange available. Well equipped adventure playground (closed at 21.00), large field for ball games and outdoor chess set. Extra field for dog walking and nature walks. WiFi (charged).
