Alan Rogers Review

Trethem Mill Touring Park is owned and run by three generations of the Akeroyd family who are rightly proud of their superb park and maintain it to a very high standard. This is an adults only touring park (no statics) and is suitable for couples who seek peace and tranquillity. The site has a pleasant and open feel, with about half of the 12 acres being dedicated to recreation and a dog walk. There are 84 pitches which are suitable for caravans, motorhomes and tents. All pitches are spacious and divided by well manicured hedging with spectacular views over the Cornish countryside. A choice of all-weather or grass pitches, with 16-amp electric & TV point available on all pitches (some require levelling blocks). A further 26 fully serviced pitches also provide on-pitch water & waste connections. All pitches have easy access and a wooden picnic table to enjoy outdoor dining. The area around reception is tastefully landscaped and features a small watermill built amongst the flowers.

Due to the stunning landscape and coastal scenery, the Roseland Peninsula has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. Trethem Mill lies inland, yet only a mile from the sea and approximately 3 miles from the picturesque fishing villages of Portscatho and St Mawes. The park offers peace and tranquility in a pristine setting, ideally placed for walking, sailing or simply enjoying one of the many nearby beaches. Many places of interest can be reached within an hour, including the Lost Gardens of Heligan, alternatively take the King Harry chain ferry for a unique way to cross the river Fal to the Trelissick National Trust Gardens. A member of the Best of British and Tranquil Parks group.

The excellent central toilet block is kept spotlessly clean and is heated in cooler weather. There are also three unisex shower suites and a separate disabled room. Launderette, motorhome services and small, well stocked licensed shop with camping and gas sales. Freezer for ice packs (free), picnic table provided on every pitch, pick-your-own herb garden and book exchange available. Outdoor chess set and 3-acre field for dog walking and nature walks. Free Wi-Fi, excellent connection speed, available throughout the park. Although there are no specific electric charging points for cars, charging is permitted on pitch for a nominal fee.
