Alan Rogers Review
This immaculate Caravan & Motorhome Club site is ideally situated for breaking a journey or for more extended stays. It can accommodate 80 units, all with 16A electricity hook-up and 64 with gravel hardstanding, four fully serviced. Seven pitches are on grass and a further four on grass but no space for awnings. An additional grass area is allocated for tents, with its use limited to families and couples – single-sex groups are not accepted. The site itself is set within the gardens and park of Tredegar House, a 17th-century house and country park, which is open to the public to discover what life was like ‘above and below stairs’. The park entrance gates are locked at dusk so contact the site reception for details of latest arrival times. Some road noise may be expected at times, but otherwise, this is an excellent site.
The sanitary block is of an excellent standard with a digital lock system. It includes washbasins in cubicles. Facilities for disabled visitors. Baby and toddler bathroom. Laundry. Good motorhome service point. Calor gas is available. The National Trust’s Tredegar House visitors’ centre with tea rooms, gift shop and craft workshops (open Easter-Sept) is close by. Adventure play area in the park. WiFi (charged).

From M4 take exit 28 or from A48 junction with the M4 follow brown signs for Tredegar House. The large roundabout is somewhat unusual split in half by a straight-through road plus numerous traffic lights. The caravan park is signed to the left at the house entrance.
