Alan Rogers Review
This excellent Caravan & Motorhome Club site at Tewkesbury has undergone modernisation and is very popular. It is within five minutes walk of the town centre and overlooked by the Norman Abbey, so booking is essential. Covering nine acres, the site has a total of 138 pitches reached by tarmac roads the majority big enough for awnings. Many are on grass, some slope and all have 16A electric hook-ups. There are 18 serviced pitches and a further 16 new multi surface pitches which are level and spacious. The entrance to the site is locked at night but there is a late arrivals area just outside. A popular site and one of the largest operated by the Caravan & Motorhome Club with friendly and helpful wardens.
It is a good base for exploring the eastern end of the Cotswolds as well as some of the country’s most delightful towns. It is at the confluence of the River Severn and the River Avon and Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Chipping Norton and Broadway are just a few that immediately spring to mind that are worthy of a visit. The Malvern hills are also within driving distance.
The new exceptional and heated toilet block is excellent and well maintained with washing and shower cubicles. There are facilities for disabled visitors and and a laundry room. Motorhome services. Reception sells basic supplies and gas.
