Alan Rogers Review
Les Iles is a well organised and pretty site, useful for a night stop or for a longer stay to explore the region. However, it is near a small airport and there is some aircraft noise as well as some noise from a nearby motorway. The rectangular site has 440 level pitches for touring units, 400 with 4A electricity. Well laid out, a profusion of flowers, shrubs and trees lead to a lake which supplements the pool for swimming and may be used by inflatable boats. Good English is spoken and the warden is pleased to give advice on places to visit.
A wealth of sporting activities nearby includes watersports, mountain biking, para-gliding, etc. Sion is an ancient and interesting town on the main route from Martigny to Brig and the Simplon Pass into Italy.
Six good sanitary blocks spaced around the site include baby rooms and provision for disabled campers. Washing machines and dryers. Motorhome services. Well stocked shop and popular restaurant (both all year). Swimming pool (7.5x15 m, mid May-mid Sept). Two play areas. Bicycle hire. Fishing. Soundproofed disco. TV and games room. Entertainment programme and organised excursions (extra cost) in July/Aug. WiFi throughout (charged).
