Alan Rogers Review
An attractive, well maintained holiday park nestled in a serene Cornish valley, Sun Haven Valley provides delightful views of the opposite hills and is a short woodland walk to the famous Mawgan Porth Beach. The site is owned and managed by the luxury 'Lovat Parks' brand and is the perfect base to spend time with your loved ones. On a gently sloping hillside, 37 'home from home' holiday homes to rent border the top field with a central area of neatly cut grass left free for play. The lower field is edged by a small trout stream (unfenced) and provides 91 level, grass touring pitches, 57 with 10A electricity and 27 with hardstanding, marked by tram lines and accessed by a circular road. In peak season, extra pitches are provided in the field on the other side of the road. The facilities and play area are situated between the two fields and some up-and-down walking is required.
A footpath involves a 15-20 minute walk to reach the beach and the small village of Mawgan Porth, which was buzzing with surfers and families out to enjoy the beach when we visited. You are thoroughly spoilt for choice on where to indulge from the pop-up food vans, local eateries, the freshest fish and chips and award-winning ice creams. For the more adventurous King Surf run daily lessons from Mawgan Porth beach and Mawgan Pause, and for those wanting to take it easy, you can also do yoga by the seaside - a peaceful end to the day overlooking an incredible Cornish sunset. Local bus services pass through the village.
Fully refurbished large, central and fully equipped toilet block, with a smaller one in the far corner. Two en-suite family rooms double as accessible facilities. Family bathroom, (hairdryers & straighteners in bathrooms). Laundry. Fridge and freezer. Microwave, toaster and oven. Basic foodstuffs available in reception (some supermarkets will deliver to site).
