Alan Rogers Review
Established around a farm and fishing lake in the glorious Sussex countryside, Sumners Ponds has been developed into a first class campsite, offering tranquil surroundings for the angler and fun camping for the family. Over 100 standard (53 hardstanding) and 15 premium lakeside pitches are supplemented by a selection of imaginative wooden pods and chalets. The newer areas of the site and the children’s playground are at a safe distance from the main lake. Sumners is a working farm with a herd of beef cattle – a source of fascination and education for younger campers.
Half way between Horsham and Billingshurst, Sumners Ponds is easily accessible, and only a short drive over the Downs to the coast. The site is open all year, and the pleasant lakeside café serves hot and cold food all day, to eat in or takeaway. There is also a licensed bar on the premises. Throughout the farm, work continues to extend accessible areas, including new footpaths through the woods and around the new Ribbon Lake.
