Alan Rogers Review

The 1,200-acre Strathclyde Country Park is a large green area less than 15 miles from the centre of Glasgow. This Caravan Club site has been entirely rebuilt and features 107 all-weather, hardstanding pitches. There are 12 serviced pitches and additional space for 45 tents, all off tarmac roads. The warden’s accommodation and sanitary blocks are attractively clad in wood to blend in with their surroundings. This site is suitable as a stopover or for a longer holiday (max. 14 days) and it is ideal as a base for visiting the numerous attractions in and around Glasgow. As the site is close to the motorway, there may be some traffic noise.

The country park is a ten minute walk and provides nature trails, an adventure play area, sandy beaches and coarse fishing, with an 18-hole golf course two miles away. In addition, there is a large watersports centre offering sailing, water-skiing, windsurfing, canoeing, rowing (all with craft for hire), a water bus, a selection of family fun boats and bicycle hire, plus Scotland’s own theme park nearby. There are also several sites of historic interest within the park itself.

Two brand new sanitary blocks with all facilities. Enclosed sinks for dishwashing and food preparation. Provision for babies and disabled visitors. Laundry facilities. Motorcaravan services. Shop in reception sells basic provisions. Play area for young children. Woodland walk. WiFi.
