Alan Rogers Review

Quietly situated to explore both Dartmoor and Exmoor, yet easily accessible, Springfield has room for 88 units (no tents) on its nine acres, mainly on level, grass terraces with views across the Devon countryside. Sixty pitches have 10A electricity. There are 32 seasonal units and 24 caravan holiday homes which are to be found at the lower part of the park. The combined reception and shop is on the right as you drop down into the park and gravel access roads radiate out from here along the terraces and link up at the bottom where there is a family bar with a grass terrace making the most of the rural views.

Good value meals are served to eat in or takeaway, even cream teas and the odd musical evening. A small play area with wooden equipment is located in the sports field which becomes the overflow camping area when required. The bridge on the A30 provides much easier access to the site and to Dartmoor.

Facilities

The two toilet blocks are of older design with preset showers (small charge), a family bathroom and baby changing facilities. Washing machines and dryers. Facilities could be stretched in high season. Well stocked licensed shop with local produce. Gas supplies. Terraced bar with bar meals or takeaway (open Easter, then May-Sept evenings and Sunday lunch). Small heated swimming pool, naturally sheltered (unsupervised). Play area and games room with skittle alley. WiFi (charged).
