Alan Rogers Review
Camping Solbakken is a seven-hectare naturist campsite bordering Isefjorden in Zealand, some 50 km. west of Copenhagen. A former apple orchard, it is divided into two areas, each with fifty touring pitches. These are mainly on level grass, with electricty and an open aspect. There are also seven cabins to rent. Campers have direct private access, via a pathway, down to the fjord and jetty. Swimming and rafting are very popular in warm weather as are low-key themed evenings and daytime games. There is a small kiosk and bakery on site and a larger supermarket is within walking distance.
The area is good for cycling with many routes passing close to Neolithic burial mounds. The small island of Orø, in the middle of the fjord, is ideal for a cycling tour using the regular ferry crossings. Within 25 km. there are many museums covering the recent industrial times back to the stone age, a Baroque-style palace, Viking ships and theme parks. There is something for all ages and all tastes.
