Slane Farm Camping is a friendly, family-run campsite situated on a large working farm in a rural setting in the heart of the historic Boyne Valley, 16 km. West of Drogheda. This small campsite has a sunny field for tents and a separate stony area for motorhomes and caravans. Electricity (6A Europlug) is available, but long leads may be needed. It is an ideal base for concerts in the grounds of Slane Castle, only 5 minutes walk away, so can be quite busy. A well-equipped kitchen is available for use by campers, and the reception area is well-stocked with local information. The owners are always on hand to offer help and advice about the area.

Fresh produce from the adjacent vegetable garden is available, and visits can be made to the dairy and the farm animals. There is a donkey and two goats for the children to see on site. There are many marked walks around Slane Farm for those seeking to explore the immediate surroundings. Areas recommended for visits are the Boyne valley, County Louth, County Neath and County Kildare. Dublin, 50 km, is easy to reach by car using the M1 motorway.

Location

Leave the north-south M1 motorway at exit 10 near Drogheda. Take N51 west through Slane for just under 12 km. Turn northwest on R163, site in right in 600 m.
