Alan Rogers Review

On the banks of Loch Greshornish, the location of this site is both scenic and peaceful. The owners look after the site themselves and everything is very well cared for, clean and attractive. There are 105 pitches, 59 with 16A electricity and of these, 38 are on hardstanding. Most pitches are level and have loch views. The atmosphere is very welcoming, from the first greeting at reception to the wave goodbye. Facilities are modern, warm and clean. There is much wildlife in the area and we were lucky enough to see and hear a golden eagle just above the site. The site owns the adjoining loch shore, which is fenced and gated, so fishing (without a licence) is possible.

The site shop sells essentials and a selection of holiday goods, and there is good tourist information and advice from the owners. A long area beside the loch is provided for walking dogs and there is a special dog shower. Portree with its shop and restaurants is not far away and we dined well at a nearby country house hotel. The whole area is wonderful for walking and other sports. Nearby attractions include the Talisker Distillery, traditional yarn companies, Armadale Castle and Dunvegan Castle and Gardens.

Well maintained sanitary block with underfloor heating in the cooler months, separate provision for campers with disabilities, and a separate family room. Small laundry. Dog shower. Motorcaravan services. Camper’s shelter with seating, cooking and eating area. Good shop with bread and fresh eggs. Gas. Fishing. Island trips. Two camping pods to rent. WiFi throughout (charged).
