This spacious site is on the southern slopes of the Tanargue hills in a quieter region of the Ardèche. It will appeal to nature lovers, hill walkers, ramblers, mountain bikers and cyclists. It has a calm and relaxing feel, complete with two pools and bar to lounge away the days. The pitches are irregularly laid out on terraces on the forested slopes and narrow roads make access difficult for large outfits. There are 97 pitches with 52 good size, slightly sloping, gravel pitches for touring, all have 10A electricity. Tall mature trees give good shade to most pitches. Rock pegs are advised. Only gas barbecues are permitted on pitches.

The activities on offer include canoe trips down the River Ardèche and guided walks in the surrounding hills. The Tour du Tanargue is a horse ride which is highly rated by the experts and is just one of the 400 walks and horse rides available in the region. The entrance to Les Gorges de la Beaume is 5 km. west of La Marette at Pied de Boeuf. The site has contact with providers of more serious sporting activities and also offers excursion programmes, and cycle routes starting from the site.

Toilet block with modern facilities and some cubicles, preset showers, children’s facilities and baby room. En-suite accessible unit, but steep roads make it unsuitable. 2 washing machines. Bread to order. Bar/TV room. Snack bar/takeaway/pizzeria (daily July/Aug then weekends). Heated swimming pool complex with 3 slides, paddling pool and large terrace. Play Area. Boules. Free WiFi in bar.

Directions to Sites et Paysages de la Marette

From autoroute A7, take exit 16. Drive south, shortly turn west onto D104 for 60 km. around Aubenas to just beyond Uzer. Turn northwest on D5 then D24 for 12 km. to site, following signs for Valgorge. Site is on right after Joannas.
