Alan Rogers Review of Seaview (Haven)
Seaview is a real family park in a rural situation in an area of ‘outstanding natural beauty’, yet only 2.5 miles from the busy family resort of Weymouth with its marvellous sandy beach. There are 340 pitches with 87 for touring units, the remainder taken by the hire fleet of mobile homes and some safari tents (new for the 2015 season). Most of the touring pitches are on grass with electricity, a few have water taps and reinforced bases. There is only one shower block which may well struggle to meet needs in high season, although it is constantly cleaned. Heated indoor and outdoor pools and a very wide range of amenities, entertainment and activities ensure this Haven Park is a very popular holiday venue.
There really is something for all the family. The pools have lifeguards, and you can take swimming lessons. There are ‘aqua jets’ and ‘gliders’, 5-a-side football, archery and fencing coaching, an adventure playground and lots of amusement machines. Non-stop family entertainment is the name of the game. A café, bar and grill seems to be open from breakfast through the whole day. Should you tire of all this you can walk to the beach at Bowleaze Cove (around 15 minutes), or take the bus into Weymouth. David Bellamy has ensured there is a nature walk and garden and you will certainly see some rabbits! The facilities of the next door Haven Park via the Nature Trail are available to all visitors.
